8 at The Londoner is a Japanese-style rooftop bar on the eighth floor of The Londoner hotel on Leicester Square, open Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm. It has three areas: the bar, the Izakaya Lounge, and the Shima Garden, an open-air space with a retractable roof, firepit and banquette seating, with views across the West End. The Shima Garden takes up to 45 guests and the Izakaya Lounge 6 to 30 for private dining; taken together as an exclusive hire the rooftop holds 30 to 180 guests, with a choice of two canapé and cocktail reception menus. Food is contemporary Japanese, alongside cocktails, sake and Japanese whisky. Access is by lift.
