Wrapped in glazed panels that can be retracted on warmer days, the design ensures uninterrupted views across the River Thames and the London skyline are preserved, no matter the weather. This unique combination of indoor comfort and outdoor access makes it ideal for diverse event formats and sizes, accommodating up to 200 guests standing, 100 for seated dinner & dance, and up to 120 theatre style. Exceptional Culinary Options by NT Food and Drink: A highlight of hosting your event at The Buffini Chao Deck is the exceptional in-house catering provided by the NT Food and Drink Team, a collaboration between Levy and KERB. We have a wide range of culinary options to meet every type of event. Drawing on the best of the London culinary scene, including the city’s top independent food traders, they offer exciting and inspired seasonal menus. Whether you desire elegant canapés and cocktails, London's best street food, or a formal three-course seated dinner, the team can create bespoke menus tailored to your event. Using organic and locally sourced ingredients is at the core of their mission, ensuring food and service that reflect the National Theatre’s vision and quality. External catering is not permitted, ensuring the highest standards are maintained. Full Bar Service & State-of-the-Art AV: The venue is fully licensed to serve alcohol until 2 am, offering flexibility for evening events. You can choose from convenient drink packages or a cash bar, staffed by their professional team. The Buffini Chao Deck features state-of-the-art lighting and AV, designed and installed by the National Theatre’s own departments. Each package includes essential technical elements such as 2 handheld mics, surround sound, and bespoke lighting, allowing you to create the perfect atmosphere. (Please note: acoustic drums may be restricted during performances in the Olivier Theatre; guests should confirm with the team for details). Wi-Fi is also available throughout the venue. Located in a highly accessible Central London spot on the South Bank, the venue offers convenience for guests. While the venue itself does not have its own private parking, there is a public car park available in the basement, managed by a third party. It offers 290 spaces, including 20 designated Blue Badge spaces. Spaces cannot be reserved in advance, and there is a height restriction of 6ft 2in (1.88m). The car park has specified opening hours (Monday-Friday: 6 am-midnight, Saturday-Sundays: 7 am-midnight) and charges apply. Crucially, there is accessible access from the car park to The Buffini Chao Deck, and the venue itself features wheelchair access, elevators, and ramps. A designated smoking area is available (likely on the terrace).
